Garland police are investigating a shooting in a school parking lot that left two men hospitalized with serious injuries.The shooting happened before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday outside WH Bradfield Elementary School on Bucknell Drive.Responding officers found two men lying in the parking lot. One was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and the other had serious injuries.The suspect or suspects fled before officers arrived. Garland police said they are still investigating to identify the shooter and determine a motive.

Woman shot by Irving police after threatening officers with knife, department says

Irving police shot and wounded a woman who authorities said was armed with a knife and advancing toward officers during a domestic disturbance call on Friday evening.Irving police were called around 5:50 p.m. to the 300 block of Rolston Road, as officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman standing in the street with a knife and making threats. Officers gave her verbal commands, but she did not comply and continued moving toward them.One officer used a less-lethal weapon, police said, but it did not stop the woman. A second officer then fired their duty weapon, striking her.Officers provided aid until Irving firefighters arrived and took the woman to a local hospital. No officers were injured.Irving police will conduct criminal and administrative investigations, as is standard after an officer-involved shooting. The Dallas County Public Integrity Unit will also conduct a separate investigation.
