A string of vehicle break-ins in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas have residents concerned and police upping patrols.White Rock Lake vehicle break-insDallas Police tells FOX 4 that 58 BMVs, or burglary of a motor vehicle, have been reported in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas in 2026.That's an increase from the 18 BMVs reported through September 14 of 2025. In 2024, 13 BMVs were reported in the White Rock Lake area.DPD notes that the 58 reported BMVs include reports outside the lake area.In order to combat the increase in break-ins, Dallas Police has focused bike and UTV patrol efforts where incidents have been reported, including a dog park at 8000 Mockingbird Lane and 300 E. Lawther Lane.Officials have met with local Crime Watch groups to share their "Lock, Take & Hide" message.
