Dallas officer-involved shooting suspect turns himself in, police say

A suspect who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend and fled after officers fired shots in his direction on Friday morning has turned himself in, police said Saturday.The officer-involved shooting happened around 7 a.m. at the Sunchase Park Apartments in the 8500 block of Park Lane.Dallas police said officers were called to that area for a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they saw 37-year-old Isidoro Melo-Munoz in the process of stabbing his ex-girlfriend.Officers gave him commands to drop the knife, and police said one officer fired a shot at him. The injured female was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. Family members identified her as Maria Santos Martinez. They said she had contacted the police about Melo-Munoz several times because he had been harassing her.No officers were injured.Neighbors recalled hearing the screams and the gunfire outside their apartments on Friday morning."I heard someone screaming," said Monica Milan, who lives nearby.
