Willie Ray’s Q Shack and Dreeam Sports travel to Dallas to help people in need
DALLAS, Texas, Iowa – Two people at Cedar Rapids work together to provide relief to Texans in need after last week’s devastating winter storm.
Last year, Willie Fairley, the owner of the grill restaurant, Willie Rays Q Shack, served thousands of free meals to people in Cedar Rapids after the derecho.
Brandon Jackson is the founder of Dreeam Sports, a nonprofit that provides youth athletic activities, mentoring and events in Cedar Rapids.
Jackson and Fairley decided to travel to Texas to provide food, water, and supplies to the people.
“Just like the Derecho hit us here in Iowa, Texas, it was hit by a storm that left many people without electricity, gas or water. With your help, we’d like to do our bit by driving there and giving away free food . Supplies and water! Anything you donate, we would appreciate it very much!
