Volunteers Restoring Herbert Marcus Elementary Library After Winter Storm Damage – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The Herbert Marcus Elementary Library at the Dallas ISD was one of the many locations damaged in last month’s winter storm.

The library was damaged by flooding and is now being restored thanks to the efforts of over 20 volunteers from Catch Up & Read and NEC.

Most of the books could be removed and retrieved from the shelves before the rising water reached them and the library floors have since been repaired.

Catch Up & Read is a literacy organization and NEC is an information and electronics company. Both worked and helped to restore the school library.

The full restoration process must be completed before students return from their spring break.
