VolunteerNow 2021 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteers are needed more than ever!
Join NBC 5 and VolunteerNow and celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week through April 24th!
VolunteerNow has been committed to connecting volunteers with nonprofit service opportunities for 50 years. They unveiled their new 50 for 50 daily challenge to celebrate Volunteer Recognition Week. By April 24th, VolunteerNow’s daily goal is to have 50 new people create a profile on Voly.org, the web-based volunteer recruiting, management and reporting platform for the K-12 school market, local authorities and nonprofits. The 50 for 50 Daily Challenge will help meet VolunteerNow’s long-term goal of 1 million volunteers over the next 5 years.
VolunteerNow identifies areas of greatest need and provides support to nonprofits that may not succeed without the help of volunteers who help advance their mission. Voly.org offers volunteers the opportunity to discover the greatest need and fill service gaps in the community.
Right now, one of the most urgent needs of volunteers is at the Covid-19 vaccination clinic in Fair Park. You are looking for food packers with small local pantries in the DFW area and mentors for 8th to 12th grade students. When volunteers cannot attend in person, there are over 40 virtual ways for volunteers to show their support.
Voly.org provides volunteer resources in education, health, hunger, homelessness, social services, animal welfare, the arts, and more. There are opportunities for everyone to join an inspiring nonprofit!
NBC 5 is media sponsor for VolunteerNow 50 for 50 Challenge and Volunteer Appreciation Week.
