UT-Dallas hosting Hispanic Heritage Month events
The University of Texas at Dallas will host several virtual events for its campus community and Richardson residents in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, which began Tuesday and runs through October 15.
The event is designed to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American culture and their contributions. For security reasons regarding COVID-19, this year’s events will take place online.
“While we can’t physically be in the same room together or see live dancing in person, I think we’ve done a great job of bringing what we’re doing on campus into a virtual environment,” said Adrienne Watson, coordinator for cultural programs at Multicultural Center in UT-Dallas, said in a written statement.
UT-Dallas’s multicultural center provides the campus community with the opportunity to experience different cultures through online dance, film, games and panel discussions.
Richardson residents are invited to take part in two live virtual events: Achieving the Dream on October 8th at 7pm and Mas Fuerto Contigo / Stronger With You on October 14th at 7pm. Both are shown on Facebook and YouTube.
