Thousands Raised to Cover Restaurant Tabs for Winter Storm Victims – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

More than $ 50,000 has been raised to cover the restaurant tabs surrounding DFW for those still feeling the effects of this week’s winter storm.

It’s a Staff Meal initiative that began providing meals for restaurant workers during the pandemic.

By partnering with foodwriter @askfoodbitch and other social media accounts in the Dallas area, Staff Meal uses donations to provide hot meals for those who have no electricity, water or are currently in need.

All you have to do is search Instagram for a list of participating restaurants every day, take a stroll and request the Staff Meal Special. Each restaurant has one or two options.

“We’ll do it as long as we can. The funds are still coming in. It’s amazing how generous the money is from the locals. And I’m pretty sure if I had the time to research we got money from off-site, so I’m sure it’s coming from everywhere, ”said Cheryl Wise, CEO of Staff Meal.

Sunday’s Staff Meal Special will be available at BBBop Seoul Kitchen and Bisous Bisous in Dallas, Pizza Americana in Richardson and Manna Juice in Mansfield.
