Ted Cruz Piñatas Created at Texas Party Store – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
First. It was former President Donald Trump, then US Senator Bernie Sanders.
Now U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has his own piñata courtesy of a party store in Dallas.
Last week, Cruz sparked widespread outrage for flying from Houston to Cancun, Mexico on a family vacation when millions of his Texans experienced historically low temperatures, widespread power outages, and water leaks.
“It was obviously a mistake and in retrospect I would not have done it,” said Cruz after flying back alone the next morning.
The online hustle and bustle prompted the owner of the ABC Party headquarters in the Bishop Arts District to take action and create a cruz piñata.
The piñata is complete with Cruz wearing his Texas flag face mask, a phone in one hand and his suitcase handle in the other. The piñata resembles Cruz at the airport last week when he landed back in Houston.
Each piñata is handmade and lasts three to five days. The three and a half foot tall piñata from Cruz costs $ 100 and must be pre-ordered, followed by a wait of approximately 2 weeks.
You may recall the same shop making a Sen. Bernie Sanders piñata last month after a photo of the dedication ceremony where Sanders was socially distant and dressed in a casual puff coat and gloves became popular as a meme.
A clerk in the store said they are still receiving multiple orders for their “Bernie Piñatas”.
Some other big sellers were the coronavirus virus and Trump.
