Stars-Predators game postponed at request of Dallas mayor

Monday’s game between the stars of Nashville Predators and Dallas was postponed at the request of the Dallas Mayor after a major blizzard hit the area, causing chaos and power outages across the area.

The NHL confirmed in a statement that the postponement was weather-related and at the direction of the mayor.

A spokesman for Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson released a statement that read, in part, “We need this. I don’t know the status of this grid, but frankly the Stars Game isn’t a critical infrastructure. It just isn’t.”

The game should continue as planned before the mayor’s request, as the stars’ home arena – the American Airlines Center – in Dallas is on the same critical infrastructure network as the convention center, hospitals, and other major buildings and services. as highlighted by Matthew DeFranks, reporter for The Athletic Stars.

No makeup game is planned yet.
