Shoppers rally to make Community Partners of Dallas’ virtual toy drive a success
The Community Partners of Dallas toy promotion ends at 5:00 p.m. today. So you still have some time to buy a barbie, basketball, stuffed animal or smartwatch for a boy or girl in need. Learn more and shop now. You can honor a teacher, neighbor, co-worker, client, or friend with a Vacation Honor Card (for only $ 10) until December 14th at 5:00 p.m. These donations also help fulfill toy requests.
The agency has already received enough toys to give Santa’s elves a sigh of relief, says Paige McDaniel, president and CEO of Community Partners in Dallas. “We’re so excited and so grateful to everyone.”
This year’s effort is the agency’s first virtual toy campaign. “We were concerned because we made this switch over the summer and we have always been an agency that donors bought the toys for and brought in. And this was the first time we did a fully virtual toy ride, and it was so successful. I think everyone understands how people are getting along and why this is important to be sure, ”said McDaniel Ron Corning on a CW33 segment that aired earlier this week.
During the segment, Corning surprised Ron Corning McDaniel with a check for $ 25,000 from Toyota North America. That money comes on top of the $ 25,000 the automaker gave the agency on Giving Tuesday, bringing Toyota’s total donation to $ 50,000.
“What a gift to help us with our daily needs for clothes, shoes, hygiene products and everything we need for the children who leave a negative situation and move into the care of a relative,” said McDaniel. “I feel like I need a passed out couch.”
