Man, woman arrested in Dallas after Denton County slaying, police say

A man and a woman were arrested in Dallas on Saturday after a fatal shooting in the town of Lake Dallas, Denton County, police said.

Officials at Lake Dallas received a call around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after shooting an apartment complex on the 300 block off East Swisher Road. When they arrived, they found 38-year-old Michael Darrough in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

He was taken to Medical City Denton where he died.

Later on Saturday, the Dallas Police Department helped Lake Dallas officers arrest two suspects in the murder. Shineisha Mann, 42, and Lindsey Crumpton II, 34, have been sent to Denton County Prison and charged with murder, Lake Dallas police said.

No bail or attorney was listed for any of them in the court records.

Authorities did not say whether the suspects knew the victim or how they were in Dallas.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie García said on Twitter that the suspects were found in a house in the North Central Patrol Division.

“The operators were called, a plan worked out and the murder suspects were safely taken into custody,” said the boss. “May seem normal, but far from routine.”

The great work of our Fugitive Unit and the SWAT 2 Lake Dallas murder suspects has been identified. The fugitive found the suspects in a house in North Central. The staff were called, devised a plan and securely detained the murder suspects. May appear normal, but far from routine. @dpdswat
