Man indicted in Lake Highlands shooting that left Dallas father of 5 dead

A 29-year-old man was charged with fatal shooting at another man in Lake Highlands in October.

A Dallas County grand jury charged Delondre Brashard Roberson last week with a murder related to the death of Dante ‘Harris, 31.

Harris was shot dead on the night of October 21 on the 9700 block of West Ferris Branch Boulevard near Interstate 635. He was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and pronounced dead.

Harris’ obituary states that he was the father of five daughters, ages 1 to 9.

Police did not say how they linked Roberson to the case.

He was admitted to Dallas County Jail on November 12 and remained in custody on Monday on $ 500,000 bail.

Court records show Roberson was on six years parole at the time of the shooting after pleading guilty to a 2017 Kaufman County burglary case. He was also charged with aggravated assault in Dallas County after authorities alleged he choked and bitten a woman while brandishing a gun in December 2019.
