Help Arrives for Fort Worth Animal Rescue Group – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A Fort Worth animal rescue group received a busload of something good from a group in Florida 1,200 miles away.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue rolled to the home of Lauren Anton, General Manager of Saving Hope Animal Rescue, to deliver blankets, hundreds of pounds of dog food, and boxes of water for nonprofits.

Anton says her group has taken in dogs whose foster families were affected by power outages caused by the winter storm. And in some cases she took in dogs that were left out in the cold.

“Texas is a big state with a big heart and they need our help now,” Big Dog Rescue Ranch wrote in a message on social media.

The so-called emergency mission left the Palm Springs, Florida area en route to Fort Worth on Sunday.

The bus arrived at Anton on Monday with the donations and the plan to relieve the foster families. According to Anton, 19 dogs left Fort Worth for Florida where they are adopted by families ready to open their homes and hearts to a new family member.
