FedEx hiring 1,200 workers for its new southern Dallas shipping hub

FedEx hires 1,200 people for its new shipping hub in southern Dallas County.

The parcel handling giant rented 778,000 square feet of warehouse space for the parcel handling center in the Cedardale Distribution Center near Interstate 20 earlier this year.

The distribution center is used by FedEx Ground.

The company said in a statement that “The Dallas regional sorting facility is designed to efficiently increase parcel capacity by sorting up to 15,500 parcels per hour and better serve customers amid the explosive growth of e-commerce.”

FedEx has rented the large distribution block from developer Trammell Crow Co.

The FedEx lease is one of the largest recent industrial contracts on the I-20 corridor in southern Dallas County.

The warehouse that FedEx occupies is the first phase of a two-building commercial park developed by Crow Co. and Morgan Stanley, covering over 1.7 million square feet.

The FedEx lease is one of the largest industrial transactions in Dallas County in 2020.

Additions by shipping companies like FedEx, e-commerce companies, and consumer goods companies have made Dallas-Fort Worth the country’s premier industrial construction market.
