Elton John postpones Dallas farewell concerts to 2021
Elton John says goodbye to his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour for the time being. He has postponed his shows from June 26-27 at the American Airlines Center and the rest of his US tour due to the coronavirus.
The British rocker will postpone shows for 2021, with new dates being announced as soon as possible, according to a press release. All original tickets will be honored at the newly planned concerts.
The singer has raised millions for COVID-19 relief over the past few weeks. On March 29th he gave the iHeart Living Room Concert for America and on Saturday he played I’m Still Standing as part of Global Citizen’s “One World: Together at Home” benefit concert.
John, 73, announced his final tour in early 2018 and played two shows later that year on the AAC. According to an estimate by Forbes magazine, his 300-day world tour is worth $ 400 million.
If Sir Elton finally reschedules his shows in Dallas, these will be his 26th and 27th concerts in D-FW from 1971 when he made his local debut at Fair Park Music Hall.
