Downtown Dallas hotel high-rise starts next week

The developers are laying the foundation stone for a new luxury hotel in downtown Dallas next week.

Plano-based Sam Moon Group is building the 283-room JW Marriott Hotel on Ross Avenue across from the Trammell Crow Center skyscraper.

The 15-story luxury hotel – one of the first projects of its kind to be launched during the pandemic – was announced last fall. The 15-story hotel tower will be built on top of a new 10-story parking garage on Ross and Harwood Street.

The JW Marriott Hotel, designed by the HKS architectural firm in Dallas, is the first for the Dallas hotel brand.

Sam Moon Group and Stream Realty Partners will hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on December 10th.

DPR Construction is the general contractor for the more than 125 million US dollar high-rise.

The hotel will take around two years to build.

While the hotel sector has been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, several new hotels in North Texas have announced launch plans in recent months.
