Cane Rosso goes to Hillcrest Village

Popular Neapolitan pizzeria, Cane Rosso, will join the host of new restaurants soon to open in Hillcrest Village, the new development at 6959 Arapaho Rd. in Dallas. It will join Lada, an already open Tex Mex restaurant, and Haystack Burgers, as well as other restaurants to be announced shortly. The new site will have two spacious decks, owner Jay Ferrier told CultureMap, and have a playground and a green pace ahead of it. The location, the ninth of Cane Rosso, is expected to open sometime in midsummer.

Vegan restaurant Grand Prairie launches GoFundMe to help weather the effects of the winter storm

The closure of winter storms was just another hurdle restaurants across North Texas have faced over the past 12 months, and a black-owned ITSO Vegan restaurant in Grand Prairie has launched a GoFundMe to pay bills, which would normally be covered by a week of business. The restaurant, which serves vegan soul food, is an important resource for diners in the area, owner Amiya Cleveland told D Magazine. Many of her customers have health issues that require them to limit their meat intake, she said, and ITSO Vegan is the only vegan restaurant in Grand Prairie. So far, the fundraiser has hit about 10% of its $ 60,000 goal.

Gas Monkey’s new “Food Truck on Steroids” will feed 10,000 people every day

A new project from Richard Rawlings ‘reality TV transmission, which also owns the Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill, will be a custom-made food truck valued at $ 500,000 that can serve 10,000 people a day. According to the Dallas Morning News, the truck (actually a trailer) will be 42 feet long. It is designed by Cruising Kitchens, a San Antonio food truck manufacturer.

The truck is parked in front of Rawlings ‘auto restoration store Gas Monkey Garage, best known for the Discovery Channel’s now-defunct reality show Fast N’ Loud, where Rawlings and his crew bought and restored classic cars. “A lot of people don’t know that I really enjoy cooking,” Rawlings told the DMN. “It’s my second passion after cars and motorcycles.”

Rawlings is currently in litigation over another restaurant, Gas Monkey Bar N ‘Grill, which he claims is using his brand without permission.
