Dallas Lifestyle Blogger Turned Fashion Designer Unveils Her Edgiest Collection Yet: And Forty Five Ten Is All In
H.Anh Merriman only launched her eponymous clothing line two seasons ago, but the designer already has a vision of her own. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Merriman’s fashion history.
The former lifestyle blogger has long been known for her impeccable sense of style, from creating Vanity Fair’s international best dressed list to being shot by the late, legendary street style photographer Bill Cunningham.
Merriman, who grew up in rural Vietnam and moved to Dallas in 1994, has an innate sense of style that is reflected in her collection. She made her design debut with Spring 2018, a razor-sharp, edited collection of 10 all-white looks.
For fall 2018, Merriman was inspired by a place that is particularly close to her heart: Central Park, which her family visits frequently in the fall to enjoy the breathtaking foliage. Her second collection is a world away from the stark looks of spring 2018. The new season has a rich color palette of amber, deep forest green and burnt orange. Lush fabrics such as fine wool, cashmere and silk blends as well as tulle create a spectrum of textures that are highlighted by interesting details such as raw surfaces.
“I think I’ll be wearing it in fall 2018. I like the idea of a raw edge in fall because it’s so rustic that it has a very fall feel to it. I add tulle just to make it really romantic and very soft, sexy in a way. The pieces are very versatile. You can style, dress up, or dress up them in any way, ”says Merriman.
There are asymmetrical hems, billowing sleeves, reversible tops and coats, padded shoulders, and yet each piece has an unexpected lightness. I have to agree with Merriman – these are things I and many other women were able to wear in the fall of 2018.
Fortunately for Dallas women, they will soon be able to shop in the chicest boutique in town. Forty Five Ten is now taking pre-orders.
