Dallas’ Best Vegan Restaurants — Must Visits and Sure Things

F.Finding vegan dining options is not an easy task, but knowing where to look in Dallas is all you need to know. There are worthy vegan places all over the city. This is your guide to some of the best vegan restaurants in town.

You don’t have to worry about whether the food at the Spiral Diner and Bakery on 1101 N Beckley Avenue is vegan as the entire menu is. It’s a menu full of home cooking – from burgers to nachos to desserts to die for. My personal favorite is the Bacun Ranch Cheeseburger, but be careful, it doesn’t leave any room for dessert.

This 100 percent plant-based restaurant and bakery is definitely a place to check out.

For raw vegans, Be Raw on 6005 Berkshire Lane is the place to go. The menu includes raw vegan and gluten-free dishes and desserts. The café sells cold-pressed organic juices so you can easily get into your veggies. Medicinal waters like cinnamon water and rose water are also for sale in case you need to pick me up a bit.

Be Raw proves that raw vegan food doesn’t have to be bland or tasteless. It offers a variety of dishes such as Pad Thai and “Rawchos”. Even if you aren’t raw vegan, it’s a good place to try something new.

For those interested in yoga and meditation, the Cosmic Cafe on 2912 Oak Lawn Avenue is a must. Many of the Indian-American vegetarian dishes can be prepared vegan. The restaurant has an activity calendar with yoga, meditation and poetry. This place is colorful inside and out with a unique atmosphere.

While these are outstanding vegan restaurants, there are others across Dallas. Places that are not even primarily vegan often have a few vegan options to try, such as the delicious burger spot Twisted Root with its “vegabond” burger.

Fortunately, it’s easier and tastier than ever to go vegan in Dallas.
