Cowboys QB Dak Prescott donates to feed Dallas homeless

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott tries to help people in need in Texas. While the state grapples with a winter storm that left millions without electricity, Prescott made a donation to an organization that feeds the homeless in Dallas.

The organization called OurCalling reported on Prescott’s donation. Prescott and Texas born actor Matthew McConaughey both donated to help OurCalling.

Opening an emergency shelter for nearly 1,000 homeless people in Dallas at the Convention Center was our most difficult task. However, we are grateful and encouraged that @McConaughey and @dak are sending out assistance in purchasing meals for individuals and families.

Prescott was born in Louisiana but has lived in Texas since he was designed by the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL draft. He shared this post on both Instagram and Twitter to raise support for the cause.

Prescott was limited to just 5 games last season after suffering a gruesome ankle injury. Prescott had to undergo surgery to fix the problem and should be ready for the start of the 2021 NFL season. Prescott is aiming for a long-term deal with the Cowboys, but the team has the option to add the franchise tag to Prescott for the 2021 season.

Deshaun Watson makes a donation to the Houston Police Department

Prescott isn’t the only Texas professional quarterback making donations. Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans quarterback, donated meals to feed Houston police officers, according to the Houston Chronicle. The food was provided by Lefty’s Cheesesteak. Watson owns a Lefty’s cheesesteak franchise in Houston.

Watson’s donation comes when the quarterback is about to leave town. Watson reportedly requested a deal from the Texans in January. The team has repeatedly stated that it would not trade with Watson, which could potentially result in a stalemate if Watson is still on the team at the start of training camp.
