California developer heads to north Oak Cliff for its first Dallas project

A developer based in Los Angeles is the next contractor to head to the North Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas.

Banyan Residential is working on plans for a rental community on North Beckley Avenue near the Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

The one-block residential complex is planned on Julian Street west of the Trinity River. The five-story building will replace the commercial buildings on the site.

Construction on the Banyan Beckley project is slated to begin in early 2021, according to the state. JHP Architecture designed the rental community.

The apartments are planned in an area that will be rapidly refurbished with new apartments.

Scott Lake, Jake Milner and Mike Lester of Davidson Bogel Real Estate brokered the property sale.

Banyan Residential is a 2 year real estate company that has carried out projects in California, Arizona and Houston.

The developer plans to build the North Oak Cliff Apartments in collaboration with Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners from Los Angeles

Dallas-Fort Worth is the largest housing market in the country with more than 40,000 rental units under construction.
