A viral TikTok post did more than rack up views, it helped save a life.After seeing a Cedar Hill man's plea for a kidney, a Houston woman answered the call.Viral TikTok plea leads to life-saving kidney donorIshmael Thorns of Cedar Hill was facing kidney failure when he turned to TikTok in a last-ditch effort to find a donor."My blood type is B positive. You know what I'm saying. I got two young sons. I'm in the Dallas area. I need a kidney, man. Share this post," Thorns said in the video.A rare tumor on Thorns' adrenal gland caused high blood pressure for years. No one in his family was a match, and having the relatively rare B-positive blood type made it more difficult to find a donor.Brandy Laman, a pharmacist in Houston, saw the video and immediately reached out."I just really saw this as an opportunity to help someone in a life-changing way," Laman said. Trackdown: East Oak Cliff convenience store robbed three times in less than a month

Dallas Police detectives are on the hunt for serial robbery suspects in East Oak Cliff that have burglarized the same convenience store three times since June 20.Oak Cliff serial robbersDallas Police believe the same two suspects have been robbing Friendly Food Mart, located at 2200 Cedar Crest Boulevard in East Oak Cliff.The convenience store has been robbed a total of three times since June: first on June 20, second on June 26, and third on July 9.The incidents have happened as the store closes for the night, with the masked suspects brandishing AR-15-style weapons and forcing the cashier to open the register and take money out.A security guard was placed inside the store following the first two robberies, but she too was robbed of her firearm during the third burglary.Nobody has been physically assaulted during any of the three robberies.Dallas Police investigation"Everyone in the area is scared. Gas leak forces evacuations at Uptown Dallas apartment complex

Dallas Fire-Rescue has given the all clear after responding to a gas leak at an Uptown apartment complex.Uptown gas leakOn July 22, around 1:20 p.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to a gas leak call near the MAA Meridian Apartments in Uptown in the 2400 block of Allen Street.Officials say a construction company working near the location struck a 6-inch commercial gas line.DFR dispatched multiple units, including the HazMat team, to address the situation. Atmos Energy technicians are on location addressing the leak.Though no gas readings were found inside MAA Meridian Apartments, the building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution.The leak was reported as fixed between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and residents were allowed back into their apartments.
