Carrollton leaders are honoring one of their own who was killed during a U.S. mission in the Middle East.US casualties in Iran warOn Monday, the Defense Department identified Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, as one of three U.S. casualties from an Islamic State bombing last weekend.Gonzales was supporting a U.S. mission against the Islamic State group when she was killed defending against the incoming Iranian strikes.Gonzales grew up in Carrollton, and attended Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD. She was a part of Hebron's Jr. ROTC program, and enlisted in the United States Army shortly after she graduated in 2025.1st Lt. The two candidates battling for Texas’ United States Senate seat will be in Fort Worth on Tuesday.Ken Paxton and James Talarico will make their pitches to North Texas voters before the November election.Fundraising EffortsIn one of the most expensive races in the nation, all eyes are on Talarico’s fundraising. The Democratic nominee has reportedly raised more than any Texas candidate has in the general election in the past decade.According to filings from the Federal Election Commission, he has raised around $70 million. That’s compared to Paxton’s $9 million.The filings show that the two candidates are getting their donations in very different ways.Much of Paxton’s campaign funds come from joint fundraising committees, which allow candidates to raise money alongside other candidates.
