Ponder ISD cancels classes on Tuesday due to town-wide boil water notice

Ponder ISD will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 25, because of a water service issue affecting the town and resulting in a boil water notice.District officials said campuses cannot fully operate without reliable water service, including safely providing meals and meeting students' needs during the school day.The closure includes all Ponder ISD campuses. Coaches, fine arts directors and activity sponsors will contact students and families directly about Tuesday practices, events and other extracurricular activities.Ponder Elementary’s curriculum night, which had been scheduled for Tuesday evening, has also been canceled. The district said it will share rescheduling information with families later.Ponder ISD said it will provide updates as it learns more about the water situation.
