Dallas apartment owners sue Atmos Energy over deadly Oak Cliff gas explosion

The owners of the Oak Cliff apartment complex destroyed in May's deadly gas explosion are suing Atmos Energy, alleging the utility company failed in several ways, including not shutting off the gas quickly enough after the leak was first reported.Atmos Energy faces lawsuitThe newly filed lawsuit claims Atmos Energy also failed to properly mark its gas lines and ignored known safety risks. Summer is over for thousands of Dallas Independent School District students. On Tuesday morning, the district welcomed back students on 20 of its campuses.Extended calendar kicks off at select campusesThe Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved the additional days school year calendar earlier this year to provide students with the tools needed for academic success.Under the updated calendar, 13 elementary schools and seven middle schools are opening their doors early.
