A North Texas community came together Saturday to honor fallen 19-year-old U.S. Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales with an Honor Ride, memorial service and celebration of life.Isabella Gonzales RememberedAn Honor Ride for Gonzales began Saturday morning at Maverick Harley-Davidson in Carrollton, traveling along Interstate 35E, up Josey Lane to Hebron High School before returning on Old Denton Road to the dealership.Hundreds of people took part in the ride to honor Gonzales, who grew up in Carrollton and graduated from Hebron High School in 2025 before joining the U.S. Army.At Hebron High School, participants observed a moment of silence in Gonzales' memory.The Carrollton American Legion also held a fundraiser during the event, with proceeds going directly to Gonzales' family."We're all heartbroken and just want to do what we can to help out. Arlington ISD is helping thousands of students kick off the new school year on the right foot.Back-to-school supplies for familiesThe district held a back-to-school event where students received school supplies and additional resources to help them start the year strong. For some children, the nerves are about more than just starting a new school year. A Dallas fire station is currently without air conditioning as the city looks for a temporary and permanent solution to the problem.Dallas Fire Station temporary closureDallas Fire Station 43, located just off Harry Hines Boulevard in Northwest Dallas, saw its primary air conditioning unit stop working last week.The outage comes as temperatures have regularly soared over 100 degrees over the last several weeks.Temporary portable AC units were installed at the station to alleviate the intense summer heat, but due to power disruptions caused by the temporary units, the decision was made to temporarily move Station 43's firefighters and equipment to nearby fire stations.Dallas Fire-Rescue says it is currently working on Station 43 to repair the station's air conditioning unit. DFR says firefighters who were moved to strategic locations to ensure coverage in the station's district will not be interrupted.The same portable AC units are in use at other Dallas Fire Stations that are currently
