The city of Plano unveiled plans for the proposed Willow Bend District that could be the future home of the Dallas Stars. Now leaders are asking for public input on the project.Dallas Stars in PlanoWednesday’s community open house event at the Shops at Willow Bend came after the Dallas Stars announced they could be moving out of Downtown Dallas into the Plano area.The plans call for a new arena for the Stars. The city is also considering a potential sports and entertainment district to replace the troubled shopping center near the Dallas North Tollway and West Park Boulevard. Frisco mother found guilty of murder for child's death in hot car

A North Texas mother will spend years behind bars for her role in the death of her toddler in a hot car last summer.Frisco intentional hot car murder27-year-old Vanessa Esquivel was found guilty of murder by a Collin County jury on June 19.Esquivel was sentenced to 25 years in prison for her role in the death of her 15-month-old son in a hot car.The incident happened on Aug. 16, 2025. Police said Esquivel left her son in a hot vehicle outside her workplace, a Frisco spa, for several hours.An arrest affidavit states investigators believe Esquivel stopped at a McDonald's restaurant before taking the child the hospital. Esquivel initially told officers she had been driving the child around in a hot vehicle because the air conditioning was not working. She denied going to work that day and claimed she had been with her son all day.However, investigators with the Frisco Police Department, working with Plano police, contacted the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa where Esquivel was employe

Late Dallas Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland diagnosed with CTE

Researchers at Boston University have diagnosed former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland with CTE.Marshawn Kneeland’s DeathKneeland died by suicide at the age of 24 in November 2025.According to a report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, troopers attempted to stop his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. for a traffic violation on the Dallas North Tollway near Keller Springs Boulevard.Kneeland allegedly refused to stop, leading to a police pursuit.Videos from the North Texas Tollway Authority show a trooper chasing a speeding car. But investigators said the trooper ultimately lost sight of the vehicle and ended the pursuit.
